Psychology – Hills Healing Psychology – Dr Lian Hill is a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD and Master of Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Adelaide.  She has worked across both public and private sectors and is also currently a lecturer and researcher at Flinders University.  Her clinical and academic background has shaped a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to therapy anchored in both practical experience and psychological science.

Lian works primarily with adults and values authenticity, curiosity and trust in the therapeutic relationship.  She deeply respects the unique experiences and identities each person bring.  Her practice is trauma-informed and neuro-affirming, grounded in warmth, compassion and a belief in each person’s capacity for growth and healing.

Lian’s therapeutic style is flexible and collaborative.  While she has a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), she also draws from a range of evidence-based approaches included Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based practices and emotional regulation strategies.  This eclectic approach allows her to tailor therapy to individual needs and goals.

She has experience supporting people through a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties and personality vulnerabilities.  Lian has a particular interest in working with clients who are seeking to understand and shift long-standing patterns – often rooted in early life experiences that may be impacting their current wellbeing and relationships.
